If you're in the business of economic development, you may want to check out this new gig offered by an Indiana native.
Carrie Kelly, who led the Arizona Association for Economic Development for three years, has just launched Pick It Up! Management & Consulting, a full-service nonprofit and association management firm that provides administrative and financial management, project management, website management, and event planning for associations and nonprofits, Fast Company reports.
"We have built an incredible team with expertise in management, strategic planning, project management, event management, marketing, and financial services that stands ready to assist organizations large to small," Kelly says in a press release.
A native of Indiana, Kelly worked as a local government services director for 11 years, assisting with strategic planning and advising local governments on ordinances and policies.
She also worked as a nonprofit consultant in Santa Barbara, Calif., where she led the development of the organization's first strategic plan and led efforts on programming in the downtown.
For her efforts, she was Executive Director of the Mohave Community College Foundation, where she secured the largest donation in the college's history and established the Kathy Hodel Most Outstanding Student Award $10,000 annually to a first-of-its-kind award, per the Pacific Coast Business Times.

Melbourne social enterprise Who Gives A Crap sold nearly 3 million rolls of toilet paper in 2014/15 and gave half the proceeds to WaterAid Australia, but co-founder Simon Griffiths says the donation would have been less had the startup adopted a non-profit model when it launched two years ago.
