A Detroit college is accepting applications for a second round of grants up to $10,000 each.
The Community Innovation Fund Grant Program was launched in April 2022 by Harper College after its first round of grantsof up to $10,000 eachwent to five nonprofit organizations in the college's service area, the Detroit Free Press reports.
"The funded projects are having long-term, impactful changes in community members' lives, with projects and services that range from providing transitional housing to single mothers and children leaving domestic violence situations to expanding curriculum to improve math skills of those with Down syndrome," says Harper College's vice president of advancement.
This year's grants are up to $10,000 each, and applications are due May 8, 2023.
"Following the success of the Community Innovation Fund Grant Program's first year, we are excited to continue empowering area nonprofit organizations," says Harper College's president.
