What do residents of a small town in Michigan want in life? According to a new survey, they want more art, more restaurants, more housing, and more opportunities for young people to get involved, MLive.com reports.
The survey was conducted in March by a class at Alpena Community College and the Sunset Project.
"Fifty percent of those who responded made $58,000 or more per year," professor Tim Kuehnlein tells the Alpena News.
"They wanted to preserve what we have, emphasizing arts and scenery, peace and tranquility, the size the smallness, they value the past, proximity, access to events, downtown development, cleanliness, the diversity of restaurants, community development, more art kept popping up, more gyms, restaurant options, family stuff, more housing, filling empty development, and sustainable produce, gardening, and farming."
Respondents in the survey were between the ages of 61 and 81.
