Since auto-centered transportation system and its consequent pollution are big contributors to the health conditions, the Sacramento Area Council of Governments adopts a transformative plan for the region called a Sustainable Communities Strategy it envisions a change in the development patterns of the past, away from sprawl and toward healthy growth where residents will have more safe transportation choices.
A visionary plan like this can make a big difference in reducing chronic disease as Sacramento has an opportunity to make the air cleaner and build a healthier future.

Foundation Provides Interest-free Loans to Start Up Social Enterprises
The Charities Aid Foundation has set up a scheme, called the Social Enterprise Assist, that will render interest-free loans of up to £10,000 each to help social enterprise start-ups.
