A former hospital campus in Woodbury, Minn., is about to undergo a major transformation.
Inspira Health, which owns the site, plans to move its emergency and behavioral health services to a two-story building that's currently under construction across the street from the existing emergency department, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
That building will allow for a new satellite emergency department and inpatient behavioral health center, a 20-bed inpatient behavioral health center, a new EMS station, and a boutique hotel and conference center, per a press release.
The development will also include housing, a hotel conference center, a restaurant, convenience stores, and senior housing.
"The new Woodbury Health and Education Innovation District plan is consistent with our commitment to serving as a strong community partner, as well as enhancing access to modern health care for the residents of Woodbury," says Warren Moore, executive vice president and COO of Inspira, per NJ.com.
"Integrating health and economic development in this manner is critical for our nation's future."
